🔥 Kindling — Chapter 9: The Pause After the Rescue

If you’re thinking this is about the rescue, pause.

This is about what happens after.

Start with the first question:

Recall a time when you were “rescued.”

Not just physically.

Think:

a moment you got through something,
were helped,
were pulled out of something heavy.

Bring one moment to mind.

Now don’t move past it.

Stay there.

Picture the moment right after.

Not the danger—
the release.

The rope loosens.
The pressure lifts.
You can breathe again.

Now ask:
Did I pause… or did I rush forward?

Move to the next question:

Why might it matter to let your soul “catch up” after a breakthrough?

Think of the animal in the story.

It doesn’t run immediately.

It stands still.
Breathing.
Adjusting.

Ask:
Where in my life did I move too quickly past something I needed to process?

Freedom happened—
but did it fully land?

Now consider:

What helps you honor the pause after deliverance?

Think of practices that slow you down:

Silence.
Prayer.
Writing.
Music.
Stillness.

Not to delay your life—
but to let it settle into you.

Ask:
What helps me recognize what just happened… before I move on?

The rescue is not the end.

The pause is where it becomes real.

Where the body knows you’re free—
and the heart finally believes it.

Don’t rush past it.

Some of the most important work
happens after you’ve been set free.
